The plain-language version

The Signal is a personal-reflection tool built by Lucid Rob (Robert Walsh). It's a friend passing on what he's learned. It is not therapy. It is not medicine. It is not legal advice. It is not financial advice. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional. If you use it to make big decisions about your body, your mental health, your money, or your legal situation, you're doing that at your own risk.

If you are in crisis or thinking about hurting yourself or someone else, stop reading this and call or text 988 in the U.S. (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), or your local emergency number. Or reach out to a person you trust today. This app is not the right tool for that moment.

Not medical advice

Nothing in The Signal, including any reply generated by the AI reflection feature, is medical advice. The app cannot diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. It cannot tell you whether to start, stop, or change any medication, supplement, or treatment. If any prompt, reply, or piece of daily content sounds like a diagnosis or a medical recommendation, treat it as personal reflection and nothing more. For anything medical, talk to a licensed clinician.

Not legal, financial, or tax advice

Same rule. If your situation involves money, contracts, taxes, a lawsuit, an employer, a landlord, an ex, a court, or any government agency, talk to a licensed professional in your jurisdiction. Do not act on what you read here.

No professional relationship

Reading the app or receiving an AI reflection does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, attorney-client, or fiduciary relationship of any kind. Rob is not your therapist, doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor. The app is not a member of any of those licensed professions.

Use at your own risk

You use The Signal voluntarily and at your own risk. Rob, Lucid Rob, and any entity associated with the app are not liable for any decision you make based on anything you read here, including choices about your health, safety, relationships, career, finances, or legal matters. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind.

Age requirement and adult content

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use The Signal. If the age of majority in the country, state, or province where you live is higher than 18, you must meet that higher age. By signing up, logging in, or using the app in any way, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

The Signal is intended for adults. It contains profanity, mature themes, references to substance use, mental-health struggles, relationship difficulties, and other subject matter that is not appropriate for minors. The tone is direct and unfiltered by design. It is not a children's product and it is not designed for anyone under 18 in any way.

No account under 18, ever. Parental or guardian consent does not create a valid account. We do not accept accounts from minors under any circumstances, including with a parent's or guardian's permission or supervision. Do not create an account on behalf of a minor. Do not let a minor use your account.

Consequences of misrepresenting your age. If you provide false information about your age, or if we discover an account is being used by anyone under 18, we will terminate the account and delete associated data without notice, refund, or further recourse. Any fees paid are non-refundable in that case. We reserve the right to request reasonable proof of age at any time and to suspend or terminate any account that fails to provide it.

Data from minors. Consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws in other jurisdictions, we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not accept accounts from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from anyone under 13, we will delete it promptly. Parents or legal guardians who believe their child has provided data to us can email lucidrobbiz@gmail.com and we will act on the request.

Reporting a suspected minor account. If you believe a user of The Signal is under 18, email lucidrobbiz@gmail.com with as much detail as you can share. We investigate promptly and take appropriate action, which may include terminating the account.

Assumption of risk for underage misuse. If a person under 18 uses The Signal in violation of these Terms, whether by lying about their age, using someone else's account, or any other means, that person and any adult who enabled the misuse assume all risk and liability for their access, their content, and any outcome. Rob (Robert Walsh), Lucid Rob, and any entity associated with the app are not liable for any harm, injury, distress, or outcome experienced by any user under 18, regardless of how they gained access.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your login secure. Don't share it. Don't use the app to harass or harm anyone else. Don't use it to try to extract someone else's data. Don't try to break the app or flood it with junk. We can pause or remove any account that violates these rules, at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

The AI reflection

When you submit a check-in or a trigger log, the content is sent to a third-party AI model (Anthropic's Claude API) which generates a short reply in Rob's voice. That reply is a machine-generated best guess. It can be wrong. It can miss the point. It can occasionally say something that sounds more confident than it should. Use judgment. Cross-check anything that matters.

Pricing and access

The first 100 accounts are free forever. After that, access requires a $1 per month subscription. We can change pricing for new accounts at any time. Existing accounts will be given reasonable notice of any price change that affects them.

Changes to these terms

We can update these terms as the app changes. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll surface it in the app.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting support. We can terminate any account at any time for any reason, including violations of these terms. On termination, we'll delete your account and its data on a reasonable timeline.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
