Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-28

The Signal collects the minimum it needs to work. This page tells you what that is, where it lives, and what your rights are.

What we collect

Your email address. Whatever you write into your daily Signal Check (pulse, trigger, intention). Whatever you write into your throughout-the-day Trigger Logs. Any reply you send to an AI reflection. Basic account timestamps (when you signed up, when you last logged in). That's it.

We do not ask for your real name, phone number, address, birthday, or any identity document.

Where it lives

Your account and your check-in content are stored in Supabase (a hosted Postgres database) in the United States. Your email is also added to the Lucid Rob newsletter list in Beehiiv unless you unsubscribe. Anything you type is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for the AI reflection feature, which generates the reply and returns it to us. Anthropic's privacy terms apply to that request.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not share your check-in content with other users.

Future research use

Rob may use aggregated, de-identified patterns from user entries (common trigger themes, common intentions, common questions) as source material for future books or writing projects. No user is identified by name, email, or any personal identifier in such writing. If you'd prefer your content not be used for any research, choose "Delete all my data" in Settings, which removes it entirely.

Third parties we use

Supabase for authentication and database. Beehiiv for the newsletter list. Anthropic for AI reflections. Vercel for hosting. Each of these has their own privacy policy; by using The Signal you agree that data required for the service can be sent to them.

Cookies and tracking

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, this page will be updated.

Your rights

You can end your account at any time from Settings. Two options:

Close account. Your login is revoked. An archived snapshot of your profile, check-ins, and trigger logs is retained by the app owner (Rob) for product feedback and support reference. You stop appearing in the active user list. This is the default option.

Delete all my data. Full erasure. Your profile, every check-in, and every trigger log is permanently deleted. Nothing is retained. Choose this if you want your data fully removed under GDPR or CCPA. This is irreversible.

For a full export of your data (before or without deleting), email lucidrobbiz@gmail.com. We'll respond within a reasonable window.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you close your account, we retain the archived snapshot indefinitely for product improvement and support. If you choose full deletion, we remove your profile and content within 30 days. Backup snapshots may hold copies for a short additional window before they roll off.

Security

We store data in encrypted-at-rest services and use standard best practices for authentication. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach that affects your data, we will notify affected users promptly.

Children

The Signal is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn we've done so, we'll delete the account and its data.
